What is a benefit auction?
A benefit auction is a fundraising method in which donors come together to raise funds for an organization. They do so by bidding on and purchasing items the organization has collected to sell during a live auction. These items are typically donated or purchased at a discount and often sell for far more than market value because supporters are there to donate money. Auction items often include memorabilia, golf or vacation packages, crafts, antiques, sporting goods, and many other items just to name a few.
